B Corp Month Round Up 2025: March at Mediatree!

March is always a special month for us as we try to get as involved as we can with B Corp Month — an annual celebration of businesses that go beyond profit to prioritise people and the planet. This year’s theme, Gen B, highlighted the growing global community of individuals and organisations committed to making business a force for good. Gen B isn’t defined by age or background but by a shared belief in using business as a tool for positive change. It’s a mindset, a movement, and a mission that we are proud to be a part of.

As we reflect on this inspiring month, we’re excited to share two key milestones that made this year’s B Corp Month particularly meaningful for us:

Renewing Our Commitment: B Corp Recertification

One of our biggest achievements this month was submitting our B Corp recertification. For us, becoming a B Corp was not a one-off moment — it’s an ongoing commitment to accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. The recertification process challenged us to assess how we operate and identify areas where we can push further to enhance our impact. It reinforces our dedication to embedding sustainability and ethical business practices into everything we do.
This year, the process allowed us to reflect on how far we’ve come while also looking ahead at ways we can continue to evolve. We’re excited to share more on this journey as we await the results and continue striving to be better and to do better.

 

Fireside Chat with Edwin Coe: The Why and The Takeaways

Another highlight of B Corp Month was our fireside chat with Edwin Coe, a conversation designed to foster dialogue around the challenges and opportunities of being a B Corp. We wanted to host this session because we believe in the power of open discussions — sharing insights, learning from others, and building a stronger B Corp community together.
The session brought together teams from two different industries (legal and financial events) to explore the different journeys that B Corps experience in different fields and how the B Corp framework applies to each. Here are some of our key takeaways from the discussion:

 

  • The Evolving Landscape of B Corps: With more businesses joining the movement, the expectations and standards continue to rise. Companies must stay proactive in adapting to new requirements and best practices.
  • Internal B Corp Champions: Having self-appointed B Corp champions internally helps massively with team engagement overall company accountability leading to sustained results. Having a champion per B Corp pillar is a great way of dividing and conquering and means that recertification does not fall to one individual.
  • Success looks different for different companies: The B Corp framework is a one size fits approach to a huge range of companies (in terms of size, industry and geography). What may be more relevant to some, may not be as relevant to others. Focusing on the areas that are impactful to your business and its industry is critical to avoid spreading yourself too thin.
  • Collaboration is Key: The fireside chat reinforced the idea that no business can drive change alone. Sharing challenges and successes helps us collectively push the boundaries of what responsible business looks like.

 

Looking Ahead

As we wrap up B Corp Month, it is worth remembering that being a B Corp isn’t just about what we achieve in one month — it’s about the long-term impact we create. This month has reignited our passion for driving meaningful change, and we are going to ride this wave of momentum through 2025 and beyond.
Building on our fireside chat with Edwin Coe, we are already planning the next edition, this time between two other B Corps (with Mediatree moderating), offering another opportunity for collaboration and shared learning. Additionally, we are focusing on building engagement within our team and the tenants in our shared office building, ensuring that our commitment to the B Corp movement is embedded in our everyday interactions and workplace culture.
